The shower curtain needed a good scrubbing, and I found the Velux window faulty and unable to shut fully, letting in cold air. the room showed signs of needing maintenance, including a lack of hand wash and functioning blinds. Online communication for check-in wasn’t prompt, adding a bit of stress to arrival.

the vibrant Hatfield Forest Nature Reserve, just a short walk of less than 3 km away, offered me stunning scenery and a peaceful environment, which was perfect for unwinding after city strolls, and I also appreciated the quick bus connections to local landmarks around Takeley, making my outing hassle-free.

The owner was super friendly and really helpful. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The room was functional and did everything we needed for our short stay before the airport run.

The experience started off rocky with a poorly cleaned room upon arrival, and the night was anything but restful with the lack of air conditioning and a faulty power supply that left us without lights or hot water in the morning. a light issue at the entrance kept the whole room illuminated at night, making it difficult to sleep, and no key on the door added an unsettling touch to the stay.
